Dr. Ritu Khare – Reflection of Meticulous and Mindfulness
Dr. Ritu Khare is one of UAE’s most experienced breast surgeons practicing since past 19 years. She is an alumnus of one of India’s largest public medical teaching institutions, the King Edward Memorial Hospital, Mumbai which is associated with one of the world’s most reputable cancer centre, the Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. After completing her Masters in Surgery, she has extensively trained in surgical oncology of the breast and is currently an accredited member of the American College of Breast Surgeons.
She has established her position in the UAE as a leading breast surgeon and has dedicated a large part of her career to support women with breast diseases, starting from promoting breast cancer screening to counselling women with suspected or diagnosed breast cancer and guiding them through complex investigations such as breast ultrasound, mammogram, breast MRI scans and breast biopsies, and finally help patients take informed decisions regarding treatment of breast cancer through a multidisciplinary team (MDT) approach involving herself, as well as oncologists, radiation experts and breast reconstructive surgeons. She has always kept herself abreast of the technological advances in breast surgery as well as medical breast oncology by regularly attending medical conferences, workshops, and training programs. Her extensive work in breast cancer has led to her recognition as a member of the prestigious American College of Breast Surgeons as well as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. She is also an active member of the Emirates Oncology Society and a faculty member of the International Cancer Care Group.
Dr. Khare believes that cancer patients thrive on mutual trust, love, and care. She strives to guide and help every single woman who approaches her with a suspected breast lump to make sure that not a single breast cancer goes undiagnosed. She acknowledges the sensitivity and concerns that revolve around the unfortunate diagnosis of breast cancer and remains calm and down-to-earth while guiding her patients through the tumultuous journey of cancer treatment. Innumerable breast cancer survivors have remained on her follow-up for years together.
